Labor Day Weekend

Congratulations to one of my closest friends, Anna and Michael Juby, on the birth of their daughter, Anne Botts Juby! She was born on September 2 weighing 6 lbs 12 oz and was 19.5" long! She is just precious!!
Madison is doing well and FINALLY sleeping longer through the nights - about 5-8 hours straight through. Thank goodness! She is smiling now...and so much fun. She's growing like a weed!

8 Weeks
Trying out the pool...
My first stroller ride outside!
The doctor and nurse who helped bring Madison into the world - we LOVE them!
We've had a busy week...filled with a little drama. Madison got her 2 month old checkup last week. She now weighs 10 lbs 11 oz! She also got her shots and she did so well. She cried for about 10 seconds and that was it. Bless her heart, they give her so many! Mark and I both took her...Mark was afraid she'd associate pain with every time he comes home from work early to see her. I don't think so... Anyhow, now we're able to take her out of the house - yay! I was pretty sick last week with a bad cold but am getting over it. I think with so much sleep deprivation, it's easy for me to catch anything. Sarah is visiting for the next two weeks. Madison and I went to pick her up from the airport. On the way home yesterday evening, we got in a car accident on the highway. Everyone is okay though, which is most important. Now we're just busy with phone calls, getting my car fixed (it's pretty bad) and a rental car for the time being. ...Just when we had so many plans to go out and do things now that we can take Mad out! Well, we'll be able to do it soon...Thursday, August 9, 2007
7 Weeks Old

Madison is doing really well this week and we continue to work through her acid reflux issues. She is currently enjoying staying up and partying really late into the nights... Meanwhile, I've been under the weather, but feeling better now. New news is that I've recently resigned from my job, having decided to be a full time stay at home Mommy now. I plan to go back to work later, but for now, I'll enjoy focusing on taking care of Miss Madison. :) Wednesday, August 1, 2007

I'm tired of Mommy always having camera in hand...

Hi everyone! We've had a fantastic week with my parents in town. My mom came for a little over a week and my dad came in on business, but he was able to spend several days with us as well. We all hope they can come visit again really soon! They helped us out so much. Madison is now 6 weeks old today and doing well. She's just so cute and developing such a great personality. I took her to the doctor yesterday because of some acid reflux, but that should be under control soon. She is now 9 lbs! The doctor is really pleased with her weight gain. Two more weeks and we can take her out of the house!! Until then, we are enjoying playing with toys and eating lots...

5 Weeks Old
Cowgirl Madison: Now she's a true Texan, thanks to Aunt Sarah who bought Madison her very own cowgirl boots. Also, Madison continues to make great improvements in her weight gain. At our Pediatrician appointment on Monday, we learned that she weighs 8 lbs! She now registers on the charts! We are SO happy that we moved to the bottle...and although I'm still exhausted, I am finally getting a little bit more sleep, thank the Lord... My mom is in town again, so she is really helping out a lot.
One of our very closest friends from Atlanta, Tara Eagle, visited us on Monday evening and it was so wonderful to see her again!! She gave Madison the cutest baby Diesel top and Guess jeans...love them! We've received such cute gifts from everyone and we are so thankful!
Our neighbors, Clareanne and Raymond, who are Madison's "proxy Grandparents", came to visit on Sunday. They just love Madison and can't wait to babysit.Saturday, July 21, 2007
One Month Old!
Madison turned one month old! It's hard to believe she's already one month...and her original due date is yet to come. Madison has been growing steadily and is now over seven pounds! And, she still likes to party at nights...we have to work on that. I have been a little sick this week, so Elaine has taken care of Madison in the mornings so I can sleep, which has been so nice. Madison's feeding schedule has been quite intense in order to ensure weight gain - requiring nursing first, then topping her off with a bottle, then me pumping more milk for her. This left me about 45 minutes of sleep in between intervals of feeding her. Needless to say, I was exhausted and worse for the wear. So, after much thought and consideration, we have decided to bottle feed her with formula full time. It was a hard decision, but this has made everyone lots happier!Monday, July 16, 2007
update
We took Madison to the Pediatrician on Friday and we're so happy that she has gained almost one pound in a week!! She now weighs 6 lbs 13 oz. Madison hardly slept on Friday night and kept Mom and Dad awake...we thought we were going to die. Thankfully, she had a much better night last night! Looks like the swing and keeping the light on helped. Plus, those Mylecon drops for gas are fantastic!
I'm in process of adding photos to our Chipley photo site on Shutterfly, so you can check those out soon. Click on link in right side tool bar.

On Friday evening, our friends Katie and Dan came over and brought a fabulous Mexican fajita meal - our favorite! Madison enjoyed being held by Mr. Dan.

Studying her Grandpa
Mark's parents flew in this week to meet Madison, their first grandchild! We had a great week together. Mark's dad helped us out with several home improvement projects and Mark's mom has helped out a lot with the baby and around the house. Madison is doing great, but she's developed some colic, unfortunately, and has kept Mommy up every night until about 6 am. We really hope this doesn't last very long... But we'll focus on the positives - Madison is eating more and gaining weight which is great...and Mommy has only 6 lbs left to lose to be back to her pre-pregnancy weight! Other new news...we got a new car yesterday...unfortunately, our other SUV needed too much work done on it, so we decided to get a new car and go the practical route with a sedan. Buying a new car at the same time as having a new baby was not ideal, but hey, that's life!
